Created by Bryce Beal and Scott Malin, KINDRED HEAVENS is STUDIO BABA's debut graphic novel series. This campaign is for the second book, which is fully-colored and 113 pages.
 
It is the early 1920s, and the world has been gripped by a new sport called "Windracing." Using Wright-Brothers-esque machines, people race around crowded streets, kicking up dirt and cramming their wings together as they all compete for the glory of being number #1. Everyone's eyes are currently on the two top companies, PEGASUS and CERBERUS, as their ongoing feud spills off the racetrack and into the papers…

KINDRED HEAVENS BOOK 2 continues the tale of mechanic, aspiring pilot, and heir to the fractured Pegasus, ISABELLE VOIT. Following the showdown at Cerberus Tower, tensions are at an all-time high within the company, and it is up to her to pick up the pieces and ensure they are prepared to face their rivals at the upcoming Diamond Stretch.
 
But everything is pitted against her. There’s no money to prepare with, and the good-faith of old allies will only take them so far. Everyone on her crew is dejected, with some even threatening to quit. And that’s not even mentioning Alexander Fitch, who has riled the media into a frenzy. Reporters camp outside the warehouse, scribbling every scandalous detail of Pegasus’ downfall.
 
The mightiest roadblock of them all, however, is her father, Carl Voit. His boundless egocentrism is what got them in this mess in the first place and as their volatile ambitions clash, Isabelle eventually finds herself facing a choice she never imagined possible……to give in and follow his will……or to seize her own destiny with a journey that will change her life forever.
 
A journey to meet someone who may just be the key to saving Pegasus.

To ensure we keep this pace, all future books in the Kindred Heavens series are already fully plotted and mostly written. Book 3's script is entirely finished and drawing will begin shortly!
 
Kindred Heavens is a series that has been in the works for almost 3 years, having spawned out of our desire to write a story that empowers people to chase their dreams even when it seems like everything is trying to hold them back. In many ways, Isabelle is a surrogate for ourselves when we were her age, just starting to make comics. Back then, no matter how hard we worked, it always seemed we were being told what we couldn't do.
